THINGS TO SEE AND DO
Marinette, a city with a long and diverse history, has many things to offer during your stay at Riverside Manor.
The Manor itself is a piece of the Citiy's history. If you are a history buff, a wonderful museum is just across the river from the Manor. A short walk past the library and over the pictureque foot bridge brings you to Stephenson Island where the museum sits. While there, take some time to explore the island as you learn about its history. A walking tour is available that will take you through the historic district to see many of the wonderful buildings and historical sites winth in the city.
If you are intersted in antiques- several shops just moments away from the Inn where you can browse all day among the wonderful finds. Who knows, you may find just that piece you've been searching for!
For concert goers, during the summer months the Chamber of Commerce sponsors free concerts on Stephenson Island every Tuesday. You can sit at the lovely bistro table in the front gardens and enjoy the music while taking in the view of the river.
For nature lovers, Marinette County is the Water Fall Capital of the world and you can tour 12 Falls within the county park system.
There are two wild life refuge's that you may hike, a state park and national forest areas to explore too.
Special events during the summer include the Blessing of the Fleet, Art for All, fishing derbies, car shows, Waterfront Festival, Porterfield Country Music Festival, Cruising to the Oldies to name just a few.
The Fourth of July festival takes place on Stephenson Island, right across the river from Riverside Manor. Enjoy all the festivities and fireworks and never have to worry about parking.
There's more to do in the winter! Cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snow shoeing, ice skating and more in the winter wonderland of the Real North!
There is also the local cinemas- a total of 10 screens, local community theatre and only an hour drive to Weidner Center for Fine Arts and a hop skip and a jump to the Fox Cities Fine Arts Center for world class productions.
